Yesterday afternoon we had a wonderful swap at Care and Share Food Bank. This was our first time visiting the facility and I think it was the first time for many of the folks that came yesterday. Wendy and I want to thank Melissa Marts and Donna Ross for all of their help and enthusiasm! It was wonderful to see all of the food donations that people brought with them to the swap. One of our goals is to encourage giving back to the community in any way that we can, so having the swap at this wonderful organization was perfect!
After yesterday's swap, we got a tour of the gardens at Care and Share. They have an amazing facility and are doing so many wonderful things. If you haven't gone to visit yet, take time one of these days to see it for yourself and learn more about them!
Speaking of giving back to the community, if you haven't heard already we are also organizing a community potluck dinner on September 25th, which aligns with the end of Colorado Springs Local Food Week. We have a Kickstarter page set up, so please take a moment to learn more about this community powered event and Colorado Springs Community Alliance. We are currently looking for great location for this event along with everything else that needs to be provided (music, beverages, etc) but ultimately the success of this event is up to all of you, the community! Thank you so much to all our generous backers and local business sponsor, TAPAteria, so far.
